About Michael J. Fleck
Mr. Fleck is an attorney whose practice is located in Huntley, Illinois. He concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate, real estate, corporate, employment matters and civil litigation. He has practiced law in Huntley since 1995 and is the managing partner of the Law Office of Michael J. Fleck, P.C.
Mr. Fleck is licensed to practice in Illinois State Courts (1995); the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (General Bar, 1995 and Trial Bar, 2006); the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (2003); and the United States Supreme Court (2013). He has appeared before the State and Federal Appellate Courts, the Federal Bankruptcy Court (N.D. IL), the Illinois Human Rights Commission and pro hac vice in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York (2003). He has represented creditor parties, including bankruptcy trustees, in the Federal Bankruptcy Courts.
Mr. Fleck is an arbitrator in the 22nd Judicial Circuit - McHenry County, Illinois, for its mandatory arbitration program pursuant to the Illinois Supreme Court Rule 87.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Fleck was and still is an environmental research chemist and consultant. He published a number of technical articles and has given many technical lectures in the field of environmental chemistry. In 1995, he received a patent (5,564,065) for his invention of a high-tech carbon monoxide air filtration unit. In 2015 he received his second patent (8,890,105) for an advanced personal water treatment device implementing a similar chemical process. He is a co-founder of Pidge Industries, LLC, the entity that is developing that product.
Mr. Fleck has been featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and the Daily Herald, as well as other publications, for his legal/scientific accomplishments.
Mr. Fleck has published legal articles, including a cover story in the Illinois Bar Journal, and has given seminars in the areas of real estate, estate planning, administration and litigation. For a list of articles and seminars, see below.
Mr. Fleck has been honored to serve as a judge for the American Bar Association’s National Law School Moot Court Finals (2016 and 2017) and the National Law School Moot Court Appellate Finals (2016 and 2017).
Mr. Fleck has been involved in the Huntley area since opening his practice. He served on the Huntley Library District Board of Trustees from 1995 to 2000 and was its President from 1998-2000. He has served on the Centegra Foundation Board of Directors from 1996 to 2003, and 2014 to present; is a member of the Huntley Community School District (2013 to present, currently Vice-President, Chair of Legislative Committee and member of Finance and Building & Grounds Committees); and is a Past President of the McHenry County (Illinois) Bar Association. He is also active in the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Fleck is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the McHenry County Bar Association.
